I implemented three powerups to upgrade the spaceship. They could give you a new weapon, a shield or improve your speed.

After that I added some narrative lines about the story of the space traveler and his assistant to create more immersion during the game.

Finally I implemented a tutorial where you could revise the controls and know a little more about the narrative.

Asteroid Danger was a project developed during the Game Design Course of Deusto Formación.

The objective was to create a game with basic mechanics set in space.

The Course set the sprites and the basic mechanics of the game I had to implement. It was a simple weapon and the behaviour of the asteroids. Then, I have the freedom to design new things.

I used Game Maker 8.1 to develop the game with its own system of variables. Also I had to learn a little bit of its programming language on my own, very similar to java. Despite the sofwares has some limitations, the usage of the code let me improve the game experience.

Creating Asteroid Danger was a good experience to learn how to do an iteration over a static mechanics.
